On 18 January of this year, the U-22 Asian Boxing Championship began in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Athletes from 20 countries of the continent will fight for victory in the competition.

In the first day's matches, in the -57 kg weight category, a boxer from Uzbekistan Mirzabek Mirzakhalilov entered the ring against Mahmud Sabirkhan from Kazakhstan and lost the match.

Mahmud Sabirkhan is the silver medalist of the 2021 World Cup among adults.

Today, 19 January, the girl’s competition will begin. The matches of the Asian Championship will continue until 26 January.
