Uzbekistan appoints new Ambassador to Bangladesh

Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh (with residence in New Delhi), Sardor Rustamboev, presented his credentials to President Muhammad Shahabuddin. The news was reported by Dunyo.
According to the report, during the meeting held after the official ceremony, the current state of political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Bangladesh, as well as prospects for further development, were discussed.
Muhammad Shahabuddin described Uzbekistan as Bangladesh’s key regional partner and trusted friend in Central Asia. He emphasized that under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, rapid reforms and consistent initiatives across all spheres have contributed to Uzbekistan’s rising international reputation and image in recent years.
The meeting also noted that the government of Bangladesh is paying particular attention to expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
It was highlighted that there is significant potential for partnership in sectors such as textiles, pharmaceuticals and leather production. The Bangladeshi side expressed its readiness to exchange experience and jointly implement new projects in these areas.
The discussion also focused on enhancing cooperation in cultural-humanitarian fields, particularly tourism and higher education.
For reference, diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Bangladesh were established on 15 October 1992.
Earlier, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Greece, Abat Fayzullaev, presented his credentials to Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas in Athens.
