Sleep quality improves significantly in rooms with frequent air exchange, according to a study by researchers from the Technical University of Denmark. The study aimed to find simple methods to enhance sleep quality.

The four-week experiment involved 29 participants and utilized air purifiers for room ventilation. Researchers focused on the concentration of various substances in the rooms, concluding that faster air exchange results in better sleep quality.

Frequent room ventilation was found to reduce nighttime awakenings.

Additionally, researcher Pavel Vargocki highlighted the impact of ventilation on cognitive abilities. "The cleanliness of the air in your bedroom affects cognitive functions such as concentration, comprehension, and reaction. Sleeping in a well-ventilated room enhances these cognitive abilities," he stated.

Experts advise using air purifiers indoors with windows closed, especially when outdoor air pollution levels are high.

The researchers plan to further explore the relationship between humidity and carbon dioxide levels in future studies involving larger participant groups.

Previously, researchers from Newman University in Pennsylvania, USA, conducted a study on the causes and content of nightmares.
