Reports circulating on social media claiming that the “Urikzor” market in Tashkent will be demolished and closed are false, according to an official statement from the Tashkent city administration.
The administration clarified that “Urikzor Trade Complex” LLC is not being closed for any construction or reconstruction purposes. All facilities within the complex are operating as usual, with no changes to their working hours — seven days a week, without days off.
“There are no plans for liquidation, demolition, or reconstruction,” the statement said.
The city authorities urged residents and visitors of Tashkent not to believe unverified or unofficial information.
It is worth noting that earlier, similar reports had emerged regarding the demolition of the “Kuylik” market in Tashkent. At the time, the city administration responded by explaining that the market had been temporarily closed to allow for the preparation of alternative trading areas, and that parts of the market had since been restored.
