The Ministry of Justice reported that organizing and conducting Umrah events is now classified as a separate licensable activity.
The President has amended the Law "On Licensing, Permitting and Notification Procedures." The amendments classify services for organizing and conducting Umrah events as a separate licensable activity. The Religious Affairs Committee has been appointed as the licensing authority. Fines for legal entities violating licensing rules for these activities are set at 200 times the base calculation amount (68 million soums).
Additionally, the state duty for licensing Umrah event organizations, as paid by the Religious Affairs Committee, has been set at 10 times the base calculation amount (3.4 million soums).
The law is set to come into effect three months after its official announcement, according to the source.
