15574Ukrainian deputies have arrived in Uzbekistan for a meeting with the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar diaspora at Ukraine’s Embassy in the country. This was reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in Uzbekistan.
The meeting is scheduled for April 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM. The agenda includes a welcome speech by Ukraine’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mykola Doroshenko, a 30-minute documentary screening, and discussions with members of the diaspora.
Among the participants in the discussion will be Oleksandr Kornienko, People’s Deputy of Ukraine and First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada, and Tamila Tasheva, Co-author of the Parliamentary Interfactional Association "Crimean Platform" and Ukraine’s Presidential Representative in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea from 2022 to 2024. Topics to be discussed include cultural heritage, national identity, the diaspora’s role in supporting Ukraine internationally, and current cooperation efforts.
Additionally, the “Letters to Free Crimea” campaign will be held, allowing participants to write letters in support of Ukrainian political prisoners.

On April 4, Ukrainian deputies met with Sadik Safayev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis. The discussion focused on Ukraine-Uzbekistan cooperation, the importance of preserving cultural heritage, and global security issues.
Ukrainian deputies also participated in the meeting of the "12+" geopolitical group, which includes the parliaments of 47 countries united by common democratic values. Cooperation matters, the Assembly’s agenda, and the next stages of joint efforts were discussed and agreed upon.
The deputies will also attend the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which will be held from April 5 to April 9 at the Congress Hall complex in the “Tashkent City” district.
