Today, April 20, 2025, Uzbekistan’s U-17 national football team will face Saudi Arabia in the final match of the Asian Cup for players under 17.
Under the guidance of head coach Islam Ismoilov, Uzbekistan previously defeated host Saudi Arabia 3-0 during the group stage of the tournament. Remaining undefeated throughout the competition, the Uzbek team bested Thailand, China, and Saudi Arabia in the group stage. Along the way, they also secured qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup to be held in Qatar this fall.
In the knockout rounds, Uzbekistan overcame the UAE in the quarterfinals and North Korea in the semifinals. They now prepare to face the hosts once more in the showdown.
The final match is set to kick off today at 20:00 Tashkent time.
