7303The news that Uzbekistan demanded compensation from Turkmenistan after the accident at the largest Galkinish field in Turkmenistan and the suspension of gas supply to Uzbekistan turned out to be unfounded. This was reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Energy.
“We inform you that the news that the Uzbekistan side demanded a large amount of compensation money from Turkmenistan for the gas that was not delivered on certain days of January due to a malfunction in the gas field of Turkmenistan, has no basis and is completely untrue. We ask citizens to disregard such unconfirmed reports,” the message read.
Also, in order to support Uzbekistan in a friendly and fraternal way, a batch of liquefied gas was provided free of charge by Turkmenistan.
It is noted that the liquefied gas provided by Turkmenistan will be distributed free of charge to needy families in the coming days.
It should be recalled that six officials of “Turkmangaz” were arrested after the accident at the “Galkinish” field and the stoppage of gas supply to Uzbekistan.
