Construction of Uzbek school launched in Türkiye

On January 29, as part of an official visit to Ankara, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan launched the construction of an Uzbek school in Istanbul’s Bakırköy district, the presidential press service reported.

It was noted that the institution will become Uzbekistan’s first educational establishment abroad.

The new school will enable children of Uzbek families living in Türkiye to receive education in their native language while preserving national values, culture, and traditions.

The sides expressed confidence that the school will help further strengthen ties between the two brotherly nations and become an important center of education and upbringing for the younger generation.

Earlier, on February 29, as part of an official visit to Ankara, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan took part in the opening ceremony of the “Uzbekistan” residential complex built by the Uzbek side in Hatay Province.
