On July 5, a 35-year-old Uzbek citizen working as a waitress in a restaurant in the Aydin region of Turkey was fatally shot in the head and died at the scene. The incident was reported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.

According to the statement, five individuals suspected of involvement in the crime have been detained by local law enforcement agencies. An investigation is currently underway.

The Consulate General, together with the Turkish Office of the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, is taking the necessary measures to repatriate the woman's body to Uzbekistan and to provide assistance to her family.

It should be recalled that a similar incident occurred earlier in Turkey’s Alaçam district, where a domestic dispute ended in tragedy. A 40-year-old man, Cengiz Altinel, reportedly met with his 32-year-old wife, Pinar Altinel, from whom he was seeking a divorce. The meeting, which took place at a gas station restaurant, turned violent. Cengiz Altinel shot his wife and then fatally shot himself with the same weapon.
