On June 10, the Uzbekistan national football team defeated Qatar 3–0 in the final match of the World Cup qualifiers. Following the victory, players, coaches, and staff were awarded prizes in recognition of securing a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In the final round of qualifiers, Bobur Abduholikov, who had played in four matches but was not included in the squad for the final fixtures, was initially left off the list of award recipients. However, Islam Tokhtakhojayev, who was part of the squad for the last two matches and received a BYD car from the President as a reward, decided to present his car to Abduholikov.
Srečko Katanec, who stepped down as head coach of the national team due to health issues during the final matches, was also honored with the Order of Friendship and a BYD vehicle. He gifted his car to the national team’s translator, Davron Ahmedov.
