Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory message to US President Donald Trump on the successful completion of the Artemis II space mission. This was reported by Tengrinews.
In his message, President Tokayev highlighted the achievements of American science, noting that they are making a significant contribution to the development of global space exploration.
He also emphasized that such major projects help strengthen international scientific cooperation and inspire young scientists and engineers around the world.
It is worth noting that on April 6, the Artemis II mission carried four astronauts aboard the Orion spacecraft to a distance of about 406,000 to 407,000 kilometers from Earth. In doing so, it surpassed the record set by Apollo 13 in 1970. The new mission traveled roughly 4,000 to 6,000 kilometers farther than the previous record-holder.
The main difference from earlier missions was that the spacecraft was not intended to land on the Moon, but instead to fly around it and capture images of its far side. According to NASA, the flight was more successful than expected.
In particular, the Artemis II astronauts released photographs showing how Earth appears to set when viewed from behind the Moon.
