New checkpoints will be opened on the border between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan

Officially, Tashkent and Dushanbe agreed to open new checkpoints of international importance. This was reported by the Embassy of Tajikistan in Uzbekistan.

It is noted that Abdujabbar Rahmonzoda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan, and Ilhom Mukhtorov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, discussed issues of strengthening customs cooperation between the countries.

The parties agreed to renew the operation of the "Bekabad" checkpoint on the Tajikistan-Uzbekistan border.  This crossing point is located in the Spitamen district of the Sogd region of Tajikistan.  Through it, you can cross to the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan.  

In addition, during the conversation, interest in expanding cooperation between the relevant structures of the two countries was expressed.  Specific proposals for strengthening the effective activity of customs services in the transportation of goods and products were made.

The issue of speeding up the customs inspection procedure and preventing the blocking of motor vehicles at the border points was also raised at the meeting.
