Tajikistan has expressed concern over the escalation of tensions in the Middle East, particularly developments related to Iran, and has spoken out against any military action. This was stated in a declaration issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.

According to the Foreign Ministry, Tajikistan supports resolving all conflicts exclusively through peaceful means and diplomatic methods, and calls on all parties to strictly adhere to the principles of the UN Charter and norms of international law.

“The Republic of Tajikistan calls on all parties to comply with the principles of the UN Charter and international law and to direct their efforts toward preserving peace and stability in the region,” the statement said.

It is worth noting that the U.S. government began discussing potential military measures against Iran in late December 2025 amid escalating protests in the country. The demonstrations were reportedly triggered by a sharp rise in prices and a significant depreciation of the Iranian rial against the U.S. dollar.

On January 13, Trump addressed Iranian protesters, urging them to seize government institutions and stating that “help is already on the way.” In comments to journalists, the U.S. president did not clarify what he meant by these remarks but said that the issue of evacuating U.S. citizens from Iran should be considered.

Subsequently, the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln arrived in the Middle East in connection with tensions surrounding Iran. In addition, the U.S. Air Force launched a multi-day military exercise dubbed Agile Spartan in the Middle East region.
