Tashkent-Charvak road may become a toll road

5325A section of the road from Tashkent’s Bektemir district to Charvak may soon be subject to tolls, according to the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Discussions have been held between the Turkish company Onur Group and relevant Uzbek authorities regarding the reconstruction of roads in Chirchik, Gazalkent, and Charbog fortress, with the intention of converting them into toll roads.
The ministry's report states, "Negotiations were conducted under a public-private partnership project to reconstruct the 6-77 km section of the 4P12 highway, covering it with asphalt-concrete, and turning it into a toll road."
On September 18, 2024, Onur Group experts, along with officials from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Automobile Committee, conducted a study on the condition of the road.
