Music school in Tashkent to be named after Farrukh Zakirov

A music school in Tashkent will be named after People’s Artist of Uzbekistan Farrukh Zakirov. This is stipulated in a presidential resolution adopted on February 15 this year titled “On the wide promotion of the work of Farrukh Zakirov and its proper transmission to the younger generation.”
According to the document, Children’s Music and Art School No. 7 in the Yashnobod district of Tashkent will be named after Farrukh Zakirov. In addition, the school will:
– establish a children’s ensemble named Yalla Ensemble;
– create a youth creative laboratory and performance мастерские in pop music based on the “mentor–apprentice” tradition;
– provide monthly financial incentives to master instructors involved in these programs, funded from the state budget, in the amount of five times the minimum wage.
Within the framework of the youth creative laboratory:
– starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, groups will be formed consisting of three talented students from children’s music and art schools in each region, including the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Tashkent, who will be engaged in summer programs and receive free specialized training in pop vocals;
– by the 2026/2027 academic year, a modern audio and video recording studio will be established and equipped with stage equipment and costumes;
– students’ creative works will be broadcast on television and international online platforms.
The Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan will also ensure the school is provided with the necessary musical instruments, modern equipment, as well as music textbooks and sheet music collections.
