$90,000 stolen from Tenge Bank in Tashkent (video)

A sum of $90,000 was stolen from the account of Tenge Bank, located in the Yashnabad district of Tashkent, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

On June 18, the head of the Tenge Bank retail services department filed a complaint with the Yashnabad district Internal Affairs Coordination Department.

According to the complaint, unknown individuals robbed the bank of $90,000. The investigation revealed that on the same day, several suspects visited the bank’s cash desk posing as customers. They entered false information into the post terminal to withdraw the $90,000 onto their bank cards.

Following the incident, operational and technical measures were promptly implemented, resulting in the detention of all members of the criminal group involved.

During the operation, law enforcement seized 12 mobile phones, a post terminal, nine bank cards, 1,670,000 soums, and $36,495 as material evidence. A total of nine individuals were detained under Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code (grounds for detention).

Earlier, an unknown individual attacked the "Turkiston" banking services center in Tashkent with a fake weapon.
