Starting today, March 7, Tashkent has launched its annual road repair and reconstruction efforts. The city administration announced the start of the works, which aim to improve traffic flow, ensure road safety, and enhance transportation convenience for residents and public transport users.

Following directives from the President and the Cabinet of Ministers, authorities inspected the city’s busiest streets to assess their condition. Based on the findings, a targeted repair program for 2025 has been developed, identifying streets that require routine and major repairs. The plan includes restoring over 65,000 m² of road surfaces using durable materials and specialized technology, with work commencing today by dedicated teams.

To minimize inconvenience and avoid traffic congestion, the repair works are scheduled during off-peak hours. Authorities acknowledge the temporary disruptions caused by these activities but stress their importance in delivering safer and more efficient transportation options.

“We appreciate your understanding as we work towards ensuring long-term comfort and security,” the report states.

It is worth noting that earlier, on March 4-5, a cycling competition led to the temporary closure of roads leading to Bo‘stonliq district.
