6992The driver who dragged the RPS inspector on the hood of his car in Tashkent has been imprisoned for 15 days, according to the General Directorate of Internal Affairs.
It was reported that on July 13 of this year, an inspector stopped a vehicle without a license plate in the Yakkasaroy district. However, the driver did not stop and fled the scene, prompting the inspector to pursue him.
During the pursuit, the driver was warned several times but ignored the traffic signals, drove on the wrong side of the road, and continued making dangerous maneuvers.
"Upon arriving in the Yangihayot district, the driver stopped at a pedestrian crossing. I asked him to get out of the car, but he refused, moved his car towards me, and I ended up on the hood for 400-500 meters," said RPS employee Shohrukh Bobomurodov.
Due to the actions taken, the driver was eventually stopped, and the necessary documents for the violation were issued. As a result of the incident, the inspector sustained an injury to the joints of his left leg. The car has been impounded.
"The documents in the car were incomplete. Without handing over the car to the officer, I drove away myself. It is essential to respect the laws of Uzbekistan, obey law enforcement officers, and fulfill our duties. I regret my actions," said the driver.
Following the incident, the Yangihayot District Court on criminal cases imposed a 15-day administrative prison sentence on the driver.
We also remind you that earlier in the Samarkand region, a criminal case was initiated against individuals who assaulted a prevention inspector, and they were subsequently imprisoned.
