A hidden drug laboratory was uncovered in Tashkent, and the State Security Service has reported the cessation of its operations. The discovery took place during a special event involving Customs Committee employees, exposing a drug production operation in a Tashkent apartment within the Shaikhontohur district. Two individuals, born in 1986 and 1988, with higher education were found involved in synthesizing drugs under the guise of logistics activities.

Upon inspection, the apartment yielded approximately 26 kg of "Mephedrone" narcotic in 56 packages, along with over 400 kg of liquid and powder chemicals for synthetic drug preparation, raw materials, and necessary equipment. The investigation revealed that the equipment and materials were imported, and the sale of the narcotics occurred through online channels.

The seized narcotics amounted to around 80,000 "doses" with a black market value of 900,000 US dollars. Additionally, the drug laboratory had the potential to produce about 50 kg of synthetic drug "Mephedrone" using the stored 400+ kg of chemicals and raw materials. A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 246 and 273 of the Criminal Code, with the preliminary investigation undertaken by the State Department's Investigation Department.
