A new district is set to be established in Tashkent. The New Tashkent district will encompass an area of approximately 20 thousand hectares, with about 13 thousand hectares designated as agricultural lands. This development follows the transfer of territory from the Upper Chirchik and Orta Chirchik districts of the Tashkent region to the city of Tashkent, as outlined in the draft decision of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.


As per the draft decision, a total of 19,729.41 hectares will be transferred from the Tashkent region, including 17,323.31 hectares from the Upper Chirchik district (comprising 11,147.29 hectares of agricultural land) and 2,406.1 hectares from the Middle Chirchik district (including 1,758.41 hectares of agricultural land) to the city of Tashkent.


The New Tashkent district, covering an area of 19,729.41 hectares, will be established within the expanded territory of the city. The specific areas expected to be transferred to the city of Tashkent include "Istiqbol," "Darkhan," "Usmanabad," "Navoi," "Jalaltepa," "Obodon," "Gulistan," "Bahor," "Khvan T.G," "Yashnabad," "Uch Chinor" in the Upper Chirchik district, and "Nurafshan," "Mirobod," "Fayziabad," "A. Yassavi," "Baliqchi," "Yoshlik," "Tinchlik," "Iyk-ota," "Birlik" Makhallas areas. Additionally, the transfer encompasses "Istiqlal," "Gulobod," "Uzbekistan," "Navruz," "Korasuv," "Aq Ovul," "Marifat," "Jumabozor," "Nurli Yol," "Favoron," "Yangi Hayot," "Sakhavat," and part of the territories of "Kyzilsoy" Makhallas.


This change will impact the representation in the New Tashkent district council, as deputies elected from the electoral districts of the Upper Chirchik district of the Tashkent region and the electoral districts of the Middle Chirchik district will now serve as deputies in the New Tashkent district council.
