Child abuse incident in Yunusabad sparks investigation (video)

A video circulating on social media has revealed an incident of child abuse at a kindergarten in Yunusabad  istrict, Tashkent. The footage shows a teacher engaging in physical misconduct toward a child, prompting an official response from the city’s Department of Preschool and School Education.

The incident occurred on December 18, 2024, at the “Little Genius Kindergarten” in Moyqorgan neighborhood. According to the video, at approximately 5:30 PM, a child, E.K., struck a peer, M.F., during group activities. In response, teacher T.K. hit E.K. on the hand.

Following an internal review, the management of “Little Genius Kindergarten” terminated T.K.’s employment on December 20, as per Order No. 30.

Brutality in kindergartens: Parents sound the alarm

This is not the first such case in Tashkent. Earlier, in Mirzo Ulugbek district, staff at the “Tanzilandiya” private kindergarten were reported for severe misconduct toward children. The incident led to a senator’s inquiry directed at the Minister of Preschool and School Education, Hilola Umarova. During a press conference, Deputy Minister Sardor Rajabov confirmed that the ministry had filed a legal case against the kindergarten.

Additionally, in Yunusabad district’s “First Daycare” kindergarten, a teacher and an assistant were found to have taped a child to a chair as punishment for not eating. These recurring incidents have raised serious concerns about child safety in private educational institutions.
