Let the baby be breastfed!

Interviews

Breast milk is the most natural and beneficial source of nutrition for infants. It contains all the vitamins, micronutrients, and immune-boosting components essential for a child’s healthy development. Babies who are breastfed are less likely to suffer from infectious diseases, allergies, and gastrointestinal problems, while their brain and nervous system development tends to progress more effectively.

Breastfeeding also strengthens the emotional bond between mother and child and has a positive impact on the baby’s emotional well-being. At the same time, the mother’s body undergoes natural recovery processes during breastfeeding. Breast milk is therefore an important factor not only for the child’s health, but also for the mother’s well-being.

Experts recommend exclusively breastfeeding a baby for at least the first six months, followed by continued breastfeeding alongside complementary foods until the age of two.

QALAMPIR.UZ spoke with Dinora Dustmuhammedova, a Candidate of Medical Sciences, about the benefits and potential harms of breast milk and artificial infant formulas for a child’s health.

In the interview, you can find answers to the following questions:

• the importance of breast milk for a child’s body;
• the therapeutic properties of breast milk;
• situations in which artificial infant formulas should be avoided;
• whether milk production occurs when using silicone breast implants;
• prevention of breast cancer;
• whether uterine conditions may improve during the breastfeeding period.
