The World Boxing Championship will be held in Tashkent between 1-14 May this year.  Yesterday, 14 February, a number of boxing federations announced a boycott of the Tashkent World Cup.  “Tribuna.com” reported about it.

The Irish and Czech boxing federations will not participate in the Women’s World Championship in Delhi, India in March 2023, as well as the Men’s World Championship in Tashkent.  The reason why the two countries will not participate in the World Cup is that the President of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Umar Kremlev has a good relationship with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the cooperation of the IBA with “Gazprom”.

Another reason is that the International Boxing Association has allowed Russian and Belarusian boxers to participate in the World Championship under their flags.

It is noted that Great Britain and Canada are close to announcing a boycott of the upcoming World Cup.

It should be recalled that on 9 February, the US team announced that they do not intend to participate in the Tashkent World Cup.
