Two men in Tashkent have been sentenced to 20 years in prison for strangling their acquaintance to death. The incident and subsequent court verdict were reported by "Millar".

According to the report, the perpetrators were born in 1986 and 1981. They allegedly planned the murder due to a $14,500 debt they owed the victim.

Following the killing, the suspects loaded the victim's body into a Matiz vehicle. To deflect suspicion, one of the perpetrators participated in the search for the missing man alongside the victim’s family. The other suspect reportedly drove the body around for several hours before disposing of it in a remote location.

The Shaykhantohur District Criminal Court reviewed the case. According to the court ruling, both men were found guilty under the following articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan:

  •  Article 97 (Intentional murder), Part 2, subparagraphs “v”, “i”, “p”
  • Article 168 (Fraud), Part 4, subparagraph “a”
  • Article 169 (Theft), Part 3, subparagraph “a”
  •  Article 267 (Theft of a vehicle), Part 2, subparagraph “b”

Each was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

It should be noted that a similar violent incident occurred earlier in the Surkhandarya region, where a shepherd strangled and fatally stabbed a security guard
