Individual fined for throwing sunflower hulls on the ground in promotional video

5624A man in Tashkent has been fined for throwing sunflower hulls on the street as part of an advertisement for English language courses. The Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of Tashkent reported that the video, posted on social media, violated several environmental regulations.
The video depicted a girl biting sunflower seeds and discarding the shells and a piece of paper with the name of the advertised educational center on the ground. The actions shown in the video violated the following sections of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Nature Protection: Article 22 (Conditions for carrying out work related to waste), Article 45 (Protection of nature from pollution by waste), and Part 1 of Article 91¹ (Improper disposal of waste in unauthorized locations).
In accordance with Part 1 of Article 91¹ of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, the person responsible was fined 750,000 sums, which is twice the minimum wage. An administrative report was filed, and the individual received an explanation regarding the violation.
This incident follows a recent case in the Dustlik district of Jizzakh, where a citizen was fined for cutting down 13 mulberry trees, causing significant environmental damage.
