People detained in Tashkent for illegal possession of weapons (video)

Several individuals were detained in Tashkent during special operations for illegally possessing firearms and ammunition, according to the Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs.

It was reported that during an operation in the Chilonzor district, law enforcement officers inspected the home of a citizen identified as M. in the presence of witnesses and discovered a hunting firearm that was being stored without any legal permits.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 248 of the Criminal Code, which covers the illegal circulation of firearms, ammunition, main parts of firearms, explosive substances, explosive devices, or blasting equipment.

In a separate case in the Uchtepa district, a citizen identified as S. found 100 rounds of ammunition under the floor while renovating his uncle’s house. He stated that the ammunition had belonged to his late uncle and voluntarily handed it over to law enforcement authorities. The seized items were sent to the forensic examination center for analysis.

Additionally, during an оператив operation at a club in the Sergeli district, a citizen identified as R. was detained while attempting to sell a gas pistol, gas cartridges, a pneumatic weapon, and a large quantity of ammunition for $2,000. Law enforcement officers also discovered and seized 11 gas pistols and six long-barrel pneumatic weapons that were being stored without permits. All items were documented as material evidence.

Earlier, it was reported that a 24-year-old individual in Tashkent had been detained while attempting to sell 22 rounds of ammunition for $1,300.
