The incident involved two men—one born in 1987 in the Surkhandarya region and another born in 1988 in the Khorezm region—who worked as porters at the "Kuyliq" farmers' market. Outside of work, the pair often drank alcohol together.

On the day of the crime, an argument erupted between them during a drinking session. The 37-year-old man stabbed his friend in the neck with a sharp object and fled the scene. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the location.

The case was heard in the Bektemir District Court for Criminal Cases. The defendant was found guilty under Part 2, Clause "v" of Article 97 (Murder) of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

It is worth noting that in a separate case in the Tashkent region, another man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for fatally stabbing an acquaintance in a private clinic. This verdict was issued by the Uchtepa District Criminal Court under Part 1 of Article 97 (Murder).
