Tashkent car thieves were sentenced to 7 years in prison

Two young men who stole a Damas vehicle from a parking lot in Tashkent’s Yashnabad district have been sentenced to 7 years in prison. The information was shared by the main department of internal affairs of Tashkent city.
The incident occurred on December 12, 2023, in the Tarnovboshi neighborhood of Yashnabad. Initially, the offenders stole a Damas belonging to a citizen identified as M.T. However, after the vehicle stalled on the road, the thieves abandoned it and proceeded to steal another Damas.
Traffic patrol officers intercepted the culprits while they were driving the second stolen vehicle, leading to their arrest.
The Yashnabad District Criminal Court found the men guilty of violating Article 267 of the Criminal Code (illegal appropriation of a vehicle). Based on this, and in accordance with Article 57, they were sentenced to 7 years in prison.
