Bank employees thwart robbery attempt in Tashkent

On April 18, 2025, an unidentified individual attempted to rob the “Turkiston” Banking Service Center (BSC) using a fake weapon. The incident was reported by “Trastbank.”

The attack took place between 16:30 and 17:00 at the “Turkiston” BSC located in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent. According to the report, the individual, wearing a black mask and armed with a fake gun wrapped in black insulation tape, tried to carry out a robbery. However, an emergency call from bank employees quickly brought National Guard security officers to the scene, who neutralized the robbery attempt and detained the suspect.

The report stated that while the suspect damaged the glass entrance door of the BSC, no harm was caused to bank employees, clients, or the cash held in the center.

Currently, law enforcement agencies are conducting pre-investigation inquiries regarding the incident.

Previously, a 17-year-old girl in Samarkand was reported to have stolen 15 types of gold jewelry worth 120 million UZS from her home.
