Driver caught with 5 kilograms of drugs in Tashkent

A driver was caught transporting 5 kilograms of drugs in his car in Tashkent, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on July 18.

The incident took place in the Yunusabad district of the capital. Officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the State Security Service, stopped a Spark car and inspected its front section. Inside, they found 5 kilograms of drugs wrapped in plastic bags.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect had an accomplice. A search of the accomplice’s residence uncovered six additional packages containing various types of drugs.

In total, the operation prevented the distribution of 5 kilograms and 370 grams of narcotics.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code (illegal preparation, acquisition, storage, or trafficking of narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances, as well as their unlawful transfer). The suspects have been detained.

It should be recalled that earlier in the Kashkadarya region, 22 cannabis plants were discovered growing on a citizen’s private plot.
