Counterfeiters of 200,000 sums were detained in Tashkent

1908In Tashkent, individuals involved in the production of counterfeit 200,000-soum banknotes have been detained. This was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office.
During an operation conducted in cooperation with the Chilonzor district department of the Department for Combating Corruption and Economic Crimes in the Social Sphere and the Customs Committee, citizen E.A. was apprehended while attempting to sell 300 counterfeit banknotes worth 60 million sums in denominations of 200,000 sums to citizen Zh.Kh. for 20 million sums.
As part of the operation, authorities seized 4 counterfeit banknotes, 89 sheets of A4 paper bearing images of the national currency, a ruler, scissors, and a stationery knife from E.A.'s Monza vehicle. Additionally, a computer and a color printer used in the production of counterfeit notes were confiscated from citizens D.T. and Zh.Z.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 176 of the Criminal Code, which addresses the production and distribution of counterfeit money, excise stamps, or securities. Investigations are currently underway.
It should be recalled that earlier, in Jizzakh, individuals were detained for attempting to sell counterfeit money amounting to nearly 1 billion sums.
