On February 15, a 19-year-old driver struck a pedestrian in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent, as reported by the city's Traffic Safety Department.

The incident occurred at 20:15 on Amir Temur Street in Yunusabad. The driver, identified as J.I., born in 2005, was behind the wheel of a Spark car when the accident took place. The pedestrian, a woman, was crossing an unregulated pedestrian crossing when she was hit. She sustained injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital, where she received first aid.

Initial investigations revealed that the driver had been exceeding the speed limit at the time of the incident.

It should be noted that in 2024, there were 91 fatal road accidents in Tashkent. Out of 1,280 accidents, 1,189 resulted in injuries, including 720 involving pedestrians and 98 related to speeding.
