Young man jailed for harassment of 18-year-old colleague in Tashkent

A 20-year-old man in Tashkent has been sentenced to five days in jail for sexually harassing his 18-year-old female colleague. QALAMPIR.UZ obtained a copy of the court decision.

According to the document, on October 12 of this year, B.D., born in 2005, recorded a video of his genitals and sent it via Telegram to his co-worker, Sh.A., born in 2007. In addition, B.D. sent her obscene messages and repeatedly attempted to pressure her into sexual activity. The incident came to light when Sh.A.’s mother checked her daughter’s phone and subsequently filed a complaint with the court.

On October 30, the Mirobod District Criminal Court reviewed the case. During the hearing, B.D. pleaded guilty and asked for leniency. The court found him guilty of committing an administrative offense under Article 41-1 (Sexual Harassment) of the Administrative Responsibility Code and sentenced him to five days of administrative detention.

Earlier, it was reported that a man in Tashkent’s Yangihayot district was also sentenced to five days in jail for harassing a woman and her niece.
