Fraudulent land sale attempts for $175,000 was uncovered in Tashkent

3170In Tashkent and Surkhandarya regions, individuals attempting to fraudulently transfer land plots have been apprehended. The Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office reported these developments.
According to the department, citizens M.M., F.T., and their accomplices colluded to promise the transfer of 7 hectares of state reserve land in the Yangihayot district to a citizen named T.M. They claimed to have connections with high-ranking officials to facilitate the transaction in exchange for $175,000. During the operation, they were caught red-handed while accepting an advance payment of $25,000, with material evidence collected at the scene.
In a similar incident, in cooperation with the Surkhandarya regional department and local authorities, citizen O.U. from the Jarkurgan district was caught attempting to sell 60 hectares of land in the district administration's reserve to a citizen named S.A. He was also apprehended with physical evidence while receiving the payment.
Criminal cases have been initiated under Articles 25, 168 (Fraud) and 28, 211 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code, and investigations are ongoing.
It is noteworthy that similar cases of illegal land sales have previously been uncovered in Tashkent, Andijan, and Fergana regions.
