An 11-year-old girl died from an electric shock in the Mirabad district of Tashkent, according to the capital’s Main Department of Internal Affairs.

The incident occurred on May 30 at approximately 18:00. The girl, identified as N.A., born in 2014, reportedly climbed onto the roof of a shop on Amir Temur Street using a ladder in an attempt to retrieve her brother’s toy. On her way down, she came into contact with an electric wire passing near the roof and died on the spot from the resulting electric shock.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 2, Article 257 of the Criminal Code (violation of labor protection rules). An investigation is currently underway.

It should be noted that in a separate incident, two workers from a private company died from electric shock while installing cameras in a store in the Toyloq district of the Samarkand region. During the installation process, the employees accidentally touched a metal ladder to an overhead power line connected to the Anzur feeder, resulting in both being fatally electrocuted.
