Persons detained in Tashkent region for selling 16 hectares of land for $1.4 million

In Tashkent region, people who wanted to sell 16 hectares of land for 1.4 million US dollars were caught and detained.  This is reported by the press service of the State Security Service Office.   

Three people living in Tashkent, born in 1955, 1976 and 1979, were arrested during a quick event held in the city of Ohangaron by the employees of the Department of the State Security Service in the Tashkent region, in cooperation with the regional prosecutor's office and the regional department of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes.  They were caught with physical evidence while receiving 300,000 US dollars from a local businessman.

It was found out that they gained the trust of the businessman and demanded 1 million 400 thousand US dollars in exchange for formalizing 16 hectares of land in the territory of the "Angren" free economic zone located in Ohangaron district.  They did this through their official acquaintances and in the name of the limited liability company the businessman leads.  They also suggested that he give 300 thousand dollars in advance.   

Criminal proceedings are currently under way against these persons under articles 168 and 28 and 211 of the Criminal Code.
