In the Tashkent region, a deputy governor and his associate were detained for allegedly engaging in illegal land sales, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

A report indicates that during a swift operation in the Shaikhontohur district, a man born in 1984 was apprehended while accepting $5,000 from a citizen born in 1986. The transaction was part of an agreement to sell 4 out of 20 acres of state reserve land in the Yangiyol District for $20,000, with the promise of a future sale.

Investigations revealed that the deputy governor's associate, who facilitated the deal, was an assistant governor in the Yangiyol district, born in 1973. Consequently, the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Investigative Department launched a criminal case under Article 168 (fraud), Part 4, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code. Both individuals were arrested under Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Investigations are ongoing.

It is worth noting that a deputy governor in Kashkadarya was previously caught accepting a bribe.
