Reconstruction work commences at five Tashkent Metro stations (video)

Construction and reconstruction work has commenced at five subway stations, whose secondary vestibules had been previously closed, with government authorization. This information was provided by the press service of the Tashkent Metro.

It is noted that these repair works are being conducted to enhance passenger comfort and improve service quality. The construction activities will take place at the following stations: "Uzbekistan," "Mashinasozlar," and "Gafur Gulom" on the Uzbekistan line; "Milliy Bog" on the Chilonzor line; and "Yunus Rajabi" on the Turkestan line.

For reference, the Tashkent Metro served 280,000 to 300,000 passengers daily in 2021. In 2024, this figure has increased from 920,000 to 930,000. Additionally, by the end of 2024, the number of metro passengers is projected to reach 1 million.

It is also noted that one of the entrances to the "Xalqlar do'stligi" metro station was previously reported as temporarily closed.
