As of January 27, Tashkent is ranked 2nd in terms of air pollution among the major cities globally, according to the IQAir portal, which provides real-time data.

At around 9:30 p.m., the concentration of fine PM2.5 particles in Tashkent's air was measured at 175.5 μg/m3, which is 35.1 times higher than the average air quality standard recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO).

In such weather conditions, the population is advised to avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary, and those with chronic respiratory conditions are recommended to wear medical masks.

Upon returning indoors, it is important to wash your face and hands thoroughly, prevent dust from accumulating, close doors and windows tightly, and clean the rooms with a damp cloth multiple times a day.

It is worth noting that Tashkent had previously ranked second in the world for air pollution when the concentration of PM2.5 particles reached 174 μg/m3.
