Car “window tinting” offered for free 

In Uzbekistan, it has been proposed to cancel or reduce the fee for tinting the glass of a car.  This collective appeal is placed on the portal «My opinion».

The appeal contains a request to amend the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of 18 July 2018 «On measures to regulate the operation of vehicles with tinted (blackened) glass» and proposes the following prices for tinting:

• half of the basic calculation amount (BCA) for natural and legal persons on the rear side windows and 2-fold BCA for legal entities of foreign states;
• 2-fold BCA for individuals and legal entities on the rear and front side windows and 10-fold BCA for legal entities of foreign states;
• 10-fold BCA for changing the color of the side windows of class III vehicles in the category of M2, M3.

In addition, the appeal calls for the issuance of permits for 3, 6, 9 and 12 months, as well as for the payment of vehicle tinting fees during the period of validity of the permit.

According to the petition, today the cost of the permit to tint the rear side panes is 4.5 BCA for individuals, 9 BCA for legal entities and 45 BCA for rear and front side panes.  Individuals can afford to pay 4.5 BCA for the rear side windows, but it is difficult for a driver to spend 45 times the basic rate on tinting the front side windows to protect himself and the passenger in the front seat from the sun.

The author of the petition concluded his appeal with the following words of the president of Uzbekistan:

“When talking about human dignity, first, we imply the peaceful and safe life of every citizen and guarantees of the citizen’s fundamental rights and freedoms”.

For reference, the proposal will be published on the portal after consideration by the moderators and will be passed to the Houses of Oliy Majlis (Parliament) or local Councils of People’s MP’s after receiving a sufficient number of votes.
