4368Aziz Abduhakimov, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, took part in a ceremony in Tokyo, Japan, organized in connection with the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Japan. This was reported by the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
In Tokyo Japan, a solemn ceremony was organized in connection with the 31st anniversary of the independence of Uzbekistan and the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Japan. It was attended by Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abduhakimov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Japan Mukhsinhoja Abdurakhmanov, diplomatic missions of foreign countries in Japan, representatives of the public, entrepreneurs, and compatriots from abroad.
It is noted that this event, which was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan, began with the performance of the national anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan by Japanese artist Masako Shindo.
After that, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abduhakimov spoke.
“This year is significant for the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Japan. The history of relations between our peoples dates back to the era of the Great Silk Road. During the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan in December 2019, bilateral cooperation in the political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres was raised to a new, higher level in terms of quality. This was expressed in the joint statement on Deepening and Expanding Strategic Partnership, signed by the leaders of our countries,” says Aziz Abduhakimov.
Also at the event, Suzuki Keisuke, a member of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament, commented on the relations between the two countries and the changes in Uzbekistan.
“Uzbekistan is one of the most important partners of Japan in Central Asia. We highly value the long-standing friendly relations between our countries. The President of Uzbekistan is a very strong leader, we support his reforms in the country today. “Especially his efforts towards economic development deserve attention,” he said. In addition, Aziz Abduhakimov participated in the 5th ministerial conference within the framework of the international tourism exhibition “Tourism EXPO Japan 2022” held in Tokyo.
Aziz Abduhakimov informed the participants of the conference about the reforms being implemented in the field of tourism in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the simplification of the visa regime, the development of transport logistics, the modernization of tourism infrastructure, the construction of new facilities, investment potential, the support of the tourism sector during the pandemic, and the preservation of cultural heritage objects and reported on recovery efforts.
At the same time, the participants of this conference paid special attention to the partnership of the public and private sectors in order to find new solutions in the promotion of tourism in the post-pandemic period.
At the end of the event, Aziz Abduhakimov invited the ministers of foreign countries, delegations and heads of international organizations to participate in the 25th session of the UNWTO General Assembly to be held in Samarkand in 2023 and to get acquainted with the tourism potential of Uzbekistan.
