Healthcare leaders who have demonstrated outstanding results will be awarded, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced today, November 10, during a meeting with medical and pharmaceutical workers.
According to the announcement, the best regional and district health departments and family clinic directors—who have introduced innovations in disease prevention and effective treatment, provided patient care locally, organized proper medication distribution, gathered qualified staff and ensured their regular training, created a healthy environment with high-quality services, and completed full digitalization—will receive the title of ’’Honored Healthcare Worker of Uzbekistan’’, state orders and medals, and a cash prize of 30 million soums.
Additionally, 500 million soums will be allocated to improve the infrastructure of the hospitals and clinics they manage.
In each region, the heads of the two best district health departments and family clinic directors will be sent to advanced healthcare countries such as the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and Turkey for managerial training.
It was also announced that district and regional chief doctors will work directly with national centers through an integrated system. Based on the types and dynamics of diseases in their regions, they will place orders with the centers. This will not only cover treatment methods but also address disease prevention, staff training, and other specific issues.
Starting from the new year, a new procedure will be introduced for appointing 26 center directors, regional and district health leaders, and family clinic directors, based on clearly defined criteria. In all medical institutions, leadership positions and chief doctor roles will be separated. Appointments will be made from among managers and entrepreneurs who have undergone managerial training and demonstrated strong results.
The same selection process will apply to the 26 specialized centers. Directors and branch heads who update clinical protocols based on advanced international practices, implement new treatment methods, organize local work efficiently, attract qualified foreign partners, secure specialists and investments, equip their centers with modern equipment and laboratories, and expand medical service exports will also be appropriately recognized.
’’By doing this, competition and a productive work environment will emerge in polyclinics, district and regional hospitals, and national centers. Best practices will be identified, deserving healthcare professionals will be fairly rewarded, and their pride will grow. Our people will become direct participants in this process,’’ the President said.
