June 2–10 has been designated as FIFA international matchdays, during which the Uzbekistan national football team is set to face the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi on June 5 and Qatar in Tashkent on June 10. In preparation for these critical fixtures, the 12th round of the Uzbekistan Championship has been postponed. This was reported by the press service of the Uzbekistan Professional Football League (UzPFL).

“The match against the UAE could become a historic moment for Uzbek football. Even a draw in that game could secure our team a place at the World Cup. In light of this, head coach Temur Kapadze has planned an intensive preparation camp in Abu Dhabi. The national team is expected to depart earlier than usual and continue training in the Emirates,” the statement said.

It is also noted that foreign-based players will be able to join the national camp earlier during the last ten days of May. This will allow Coach Kapadze to assemble the squad sooner than expected. In response, the association and the league have mutually agreed to postpone the 12th round of the Super League to after FIFA Days. This move will enable Super League players to join the national team camp in a timely manner.

At the same time, the traditional scheduling structure has been preserved, with Super League matches taking place on weekends and Cup matches during the week. The quarterfinal stage of the Uzbekistan Cup has now been rescheduled for August.

“We are confident that our national team will bring joy to all Uzbeks by securing a World Cup ticket in June,” the report concluded.
