The orphanage 21 in the city of Tashkent has ceased its activity.  This is reported on the website of “Mehribonlik” (kindness).

According to the reports, 122 children between the ages of 5 and 18 were raised in this orphanage.  Today, 67 foster children are being brought up in family conditions, and 12 of them are being raised in five family childrens' homes established in the capital.  6 children were returned to their parents or close relatives.

More than 50 boys and girls were also taken into custody.  The children left the institution when they were 18 years old.  As a result, only 27 children remained in the orphanage.  Therefore, they were all transferred to orphanage 22 in the capital.

The orphanage 21 has ceased operations.

It should be recalled that on 21 April of the current year, children from this orphanage organized a demonstration in the courtyard of the institution.  Later, a working group led by the Prosecutor of Yunusabad district investigated the operations of Orphanage 21, and as a result of the illegal actions of officials and material-responsible persons of the institution, other people’s funds were being stolen to a large extent.  Theft and plundering cases were disclosed.

On 28 July 2021, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited orphanage 21 and became acquainted with the conditions there.
