Traffic halted on “Takhtakoracha” pass following snowstorm

As of 10:30 today, December 15, the "Takhtakoracha" pass on the M-39 highway, passing through the Kitab district of the Kashkadarya region, has been temporarily closed for traffic due to heavy snowfall. The regional Emergency Situations Department (ESD) has reported this closure.
"The ESD added that large-scale preventive work is currently underway, led by specialists from relevant organizations and the Fire Department, to mitigate the impact of the situation," the report states.
Earlier, it was reported that three people died at the scene when a rock rolled over a Cobalt car on the "Takhtakoracha" pass. According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Hungary, two of the victims were Hungarian citizens.
