Prosecutor's office officials are arrested with bribes in two regions

Officials from the Prosecutor's office have been arrested on bribery charges in two regions. A deputy and an assistant district prosecutor in Andijan, as well as an assistant prosecutor in Samarkand, were apprehended while accepting bribes. This information was reported by the State Security Service.
The investigator from the Khojaabad district prosecutor's office in the Andijan region, working with the investigation department of the district internal affairs department, failed to apply preventive measures in the form of detention against the suspect in the criminal case initiated under Articles 168 and 228 of the Criminal Code. Instead, they demanded 5 thousand US dollars in exchange for leniency in their actions.
During an operation carried out by the State Security Service in collaboration with the regional prosecutor's office, the investigator was apprehended with physical evidence while receiving the requested amount of money in a public catering establishment.
As a response to the situation, the regional prosecutor's office initiated a criminal case under Articles 168 and 211 of the Criminal Code.
Further investigation revealed that the deputy district prosecutor had instructed the investigator to accept the money, and consequently, he was also detained.
In the case observed in the Samarkand region, the assistant prosecutor of the Pastdargom district received 3 thousand US dollars from relatives in exchange for leniency in the trial process and release from prison, facilitated by acquaintances working in court offices.
During a swift operation conducted by the State Security Service in Samarkand, the assistant prosecutor was apprehended with physical evidence as he received 2,500 US dollars from the requested amount of money.
Presently, the regional prosecutor's office has initiated a criminal case against this official in accordance with Articles 168 and 211 of the Criminal Code, and a precautionary measure in the form of imprisonment has been imposed.
