Former school principal attempts self-immolation in Surkhandarya (video)

A video circulated on social media showing a teacher from School No. 39 in the Kumkurgan district of Surkhandarya region attempting to set himself on fire using gasoline. The Regional Department of Preschool and School Education has issued a statement regarding the incident.

According to the statement, the school is located in the “Arpapoya” neighborhood. Z.A. served as principal there from 2010 until September 16 of this year. On that date, the Surkhandarya Regional Department of Preschool and School Education terminated Z.A.’s employment contract in accordance with Article 157 of the Labor Code.

Following the termination, the former principal reportedly resisted the appointment of the new school leadership. On October 13, during the handover of official documents, Z.A. actively opposed the process, though no one was physically injured. According to the department’s decision, E.A. was duly appointed as the new head of School No. 39. The educational process at the school is currently proceeding normally.

It is worth noting that earlier, a dispute occurred in the Ohangaron district of Tashkent region between the head of the Department of Preschool and School Education and the director of Preschool Educational Institution No. 35. The conflict arose after the department head issued warnings that the director refused to acknowledge.
