Damas hits 4 people at once in Surkhandarya (video)

Today, September 27, a video circulated on social media showing a Damas vehicle hitting four people on a pedestrian crossing in Shurchi district, Surkhandarya region. Following the incident, the regional Road Traffic Safety department issued a statement clarifying that the number of pedestrians struck by the Damas was three.

According to reports, on September 22 at 14:00, a Damas vehicle driven by a person born in 1998 was traveling along the 2nd kilometer of the 4K 592 road in the Navruz neighborhood of Shurchi district when a malfunction occurred in the steering system. As a result, the vehicle veered into the opposite lane and struck three pedestrians who were crossing at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. The injured pedestrians were taken to the district medical association for treatment of their injuries.

Currently, the Shurchi district Internal Affairs department has initiated pre-investigation procedures, including judicial medical and technical examinations, to determine the severity of the pedestrians’ injuries and the technical condition of the vehicle involved in the traffic accident.

It is worth noting that earlier, in the Samarkand region, a driver who hit a 15-year-old girl and fled the scene, along with the vehicle, was later found in a workshop during a search conducted by the regional Road Traffic Safety department.
