Reports circulated on social networks that a woman living in the Surkhandarya region was brutally beaten by her husband. The regional Department of Internal Affairs issued a response to the incident.

According to the Department, in the early hours of August 16, at around 02:30 a.m., a family dispute broke out between citizen T.E., a resident of the Mehrabod neighborhood of Termez city, and her husband J.E. During the altercation, J.E. repeatedly struck his wife in the face, temples, and ear area, causing injuries. The Crime Prevention Service of the Termez city Department of Internal Affairs is currently conducting an inquiry into the incident, and legal measures will be taken.

“The woman mentioned on social media had reportedly been subjected to constant pressure and violence from her husband. The reasons behind this are being investigated separately, taking into account that the victim had not previously filed a complaint with the Internal Affairs Directorate,” the report stated.

According to accounts circulating online, the victim had been married for six years and had endured humiliation and beatings from her husband for a long period. On August 16, she was again brutally assaulted. After her husband fell asleep, she fled the house at dawn with her young child, leaving almost everything behind. She escaped carrying only her child in her arms. Despite the beating, there were no visible scars left on her face.

It should be recalled that on July 26 this year, a singer named Zebo, who lived in the Toyloq district of the Samarkand region, was killed by her husband. He had come to visit their children, and during the conversation, an argument broke out, which ended in the fatal incident.
